I AM WHO I AM

This linoleum print series of mine is about the individual’s inner struggle for self-acceptance. I paired two polar opposites four times. Consecutive prints are in pairs: the odd prints show a mood, and the even prints reveal the cover emotions associated with them.
We born with our emotions, they control us. As children we always act on them. As we integrate into society, we learn that showing certain emotions is "acceptable" while others are better suppressed. In this series, I explore the inner child of the individual, showing the true side of them without social expectations. The internal crisis of the individual calms down, they accept their sentient being, they accept themselves as they are.
